Inspiration 22 / Ashley Mary

I'm not sure how I originally found Ashley Mary,  but I have been following her for some time. She actually shares a studio with Beth Cath who I wrote about for our 14th inspiration post here. I've been looking for more art for my house, so I recently looked through her website and was reminded once again of how much I love her work. It's so playful and cheery, and she uses color so well. She mixes shapes and patterns in a way that shows that she doesn't care much about rules yet it really works. 

We've been featuring a lot of mixed media artists lately, and Ashley Mary is no different. Her main art form is collage with paint and paper, but she also does graphic design, illustration and prop styling. It is clear that graphic design has an influence in her paintings because while they are abstract, they are also highly designed. Take a look at some of my favorite pieces by her below.
