SCOTCH & SODA: SUNSET SHAKE
A few weekends ago we had the opportunity to host an event with our friend Grace of My Style and Grace introducing the Scotch & Soda SS18 collection. You can read our inspiration post about Grace here, and see some photos Arabela has taken of her here.
This collection is inspired by solo travelers, specifically Robyn Davidson who traveled across Australia by herself in the 70s when she was just 25 years old. When traveling alone, senses are heightened and everything is more vivid because there isn't the distraction of another human being. Time of day also played a part in the design of this collection, the colors move from the pinks of sunrise to daytime greens and evening blues.
We loved working with both Juan from S&S and Grace to come up with an event that would reflect the collection inspiration in a sophisticated way. Juan had so many creative ideas that really brought the feeling of solo summer travel to life. We had Good Pop Popsicles in hibiscus mint, strawberry lemonade, and watermelon agave melting into cups of prosecco. Bags of popcorn and an ice bucket with Wild Poppy Sodas, La Croix, and Bizzy Organic Coffee Shots made up the rest of the refreshments. Apis Floral provided gorgeous floral arrangements that blew us away.
Our favorite part of the event was the photo booth that Juan crafted from an old store window display. Strips of hand dyed cloth in sunset colors hung from a wooden frame made for the perfect backdrop for showing off the clothing. The influencers who attended were able to dress up in the new collection and have their photo taken for a chance to win tickets to Bottle Rock Napa.
Here are a few photos from the event. We will be shooting the collection with Grace soon and are excited to share more of these beautiful pieces with you.
Is it the weekend yet?
