Inspiration 73 / Mlouye

You guys! I recently discovered this brand on Instagram and I can’t get enough. Their feed is an explosion of colors, textures, and architectural elements that just feed my soul in the best way possible. I’m not the kind of person that owns a million totes or purses but I do have a deep appreciation for bags that are not only beautifully made but highly functional.

This is why I’m particularly obsessed with Turkish brand Mlouye. After doing a bit of research I discovered that the founder and creative director of Mlouye, Meb Rure, was originally an industrial designer. Everything makes so much sense. Even though functionality and sustainability is at the forefront of the brand, Mlouye brings an entirely unique look to the market. Inspired by design and architecture, each bag has a structural quality to it that photographs so amazingly.

Aside from the physical qualities of her handbags, Meb cleverly finds a way to photograph them using various textures and colors. Many of the models, if not all of them, don’t show their face and are posed in a way that completely highlights the bag. If you’re looking for some serious art direction and handbag inspiration, follow Mlouye on Instagram.
